CEO DATELINE - ASAE nominates new board members; Patterson to be secretary treasurer

ASAE has nominated six new board members, including Lynda Patterson, president and owner of AMPED Association Management, to be secretary treasurer.

Nominated for at-large seats to serve three-year terms were:
- Nabil El-Ghoroury, executive director of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
- Matthew Gertzog, deputy executive director of the American Society of Hematology
- Lemmietta McNeilly, chief staff officer for speech-language pathology at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Marc Anderson, CEO of Visit San Antonio
- Nicole Araujo, client engagement director at Austin, Texas-based Mighty Citizen.
Anderson, Gertzog and McNeilly will also serve on the ASAE Research Foundation board.
Immediate past Board Chair Patricia Blake, CEO of the Heart Rhythm Society, said the nominees have "a diversity of background and insight ... (and) are proven thought leaders and champions of the association community."
National Association of Chain Drug Stores CEO Steve Anderson will move up to chair the ASAE board, while Lakisha Ann Woods, CEO of the National Institute of Building Sciences, will move to chair-elect and chair of the ASAE Research Foundation Board.
The new board members will be installed and join current board members during the 2021 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, Aug. 16-18.
ASAE received 39 nominations for at-large board seats. ASAE Bylaws provide the opportunity for additional nominees to be proposed through a petition process. Should any member be proposed by petition, the petition should contain the signatures of at least 2.5% of the ASAE voting membership (1,191) and should be received at ASAE headquarters no later than Aug. 2, to the attention of Patricia Blake, chair of the leadership committee.
